is the original theme park
located in Anaheim, Southern California. It is the smallest of the parks, but in
some ways, the best. Currently, Disneyland is undergoing an incredible
transformation from being merely the Disneyland Park to the Disneyland Resort. The
new properties that are being added are Disney's California Adventure (with a new Luxury
Hotel) and the Disneyland Center. Disneyland offers two deluxe resort hotels: The
Disneyland Hotel and the new Disneyland Pacific.
opened in 1971 and is the
World's most popular tourist destination. It is no wonder with four major theme
parks and several other parks. The Magic Kingdom is similar to Disneyland, but
larger and has a different feel. EPCOT is a World's Fair with insights into tomorrow
in Future World and insights into the people of the Earth in World Showcase. The
Disney Studios is expanding from it's tiny beginnings showing how television and motion
pictures are made to offer more thrill rides and attractions. The newest park -
Disney's Animal Kingdom is a huge wildlife adventure park featuring live animals in an
amazing natural-like setting. The rest of the resort includes three water parks
(River Country, Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach), Downtown Disney (The Marketplace,
Pleasure Island and the new West Side). The Walt Disney World Resort offers many
Resort hotels in several categories, each with a distinct theme. The Premium hotels
are top of the line and include Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa, Disney's
Contemporary Resort, Disney's Polynesian Village, Disney's Yacht and Beach Clubs, the
Wilderness Lodge and the Boardwalk Inn. The Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin
Hotels are on Disney Property, but managed by Westin and Sheraton respectively.
Disney also offers moderate resorts like the Caribbean Beach, Dixie Landings, Port Orleans
and the new Coronado Springs Resorts. The three All-Star resorts offer Disney
quality and convenience at affordable prices. Disney also has
"Home-Away-From-Home" Resorts, which feature larger accommodations for families.
These include the Old Key West Resort and the Boardwalk Villas. You might
also want to "rough it" at Disney's Ft. Wilderness Campground.
is actually owned by the
Oriental Land Company and is managed by Disney. TDL (for short) is about 30 minutes
away from Tokyo by commuter train. A train stops at a station right at the park's
entrance. Currently, TDL only features the Magic Kingdom park with adventures
similar to Disneyland in California. There are several hotels nearby, which are
categorized as official hotels. Nearby, Tokyo Disney Sea is under construction.
opened in 1992 and is the most popular theme park in Europe. It had some rocky
beginnings due to its high expectations, but the resort was built with all the luxury and
MAGIC of a Disney park. Parc Disneyland Paris is a Magic Kingdom specially built
for the Parisian climate with extensive indoor corridors as well as the usual beautiful
outdoor sidewalks. The DLP Resort offers six hotels of different price
ranges. The grand Disneyland Hotel is built right at the entrance to the theme park
and becomes a part of Main Street U.S.A. The moderately priced Hotel New York,
Sequoia Lodge and the Newport Bay Club are located around Lake Buena Vista. The
Santa Fe and Cheyenne Hotels are more economically priced, but a bit further away from the
Park. A golf course and campground are also available. The Disney Village
links the theme park to the resort hotels and features restaurants and entertainment
facilities.
